Margao: “Enough is enough. Reckless speeding, dangerous overtaking and irresponsible driving by Rent-a-Car vehicles are turning Goa’s roads into death traps. Innocent lives are being lost while the Government continues to remain silent spectators,” stated Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik while launching the public campaign “Aamka Naka Rent-a-Car”.

Referring to the recent tragedies on Goa’s roads, Prabhav Naik said that on 26th May, a dangerously driven Rent-a-Car vehicle hit an innocent lady rider in South Goa, while another tragic accident today in North Goa has now claimed the life of a youth and left another boy injured. “These are not isolated incidents anymore. Goa is witnessing a disturbing rise in accidents involving Rent-a-Car vehicles, and the fear among citizens is growing day by day.

My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured boy,” he said.

Naik pointed out that just two days ago, he had publicly urged the Government to take strict corrective measures to end the deadly Rent-a-Car menace. “Sadly, instead of acting with seriousness and urgency, the insensitive Government appears more interested in events, celebrations and publicity stunts while innocent Goans continue to pay with their lives. How many more accidents and deaths are needed before the Government wakes up?” he questioned.

Calling for a united people’s movement, Prabhav Naik appealed to every Goan to join the campaign by recording short videos with the slogan “AAMKA NAKA RENT-A-CAR” and sharing them on social media platforms. Citizens can also WhatsApp their videos to 7499358266 to strengthen the growing public movement demanding immediate action against reckless Rent-a-Car operations across Goa.

“Goa cannot remain silent while our roads become increasingly unsafe. This is about protecting innocent lives. Let Goa speak in one united voice before another family is forced to suffer such irreversible tragedy. Together, we must build strong public pressure and compel the Government to act before it is too late,” Prabhav Naik added.
