Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, along with Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa and government officials, visited the flood-affected areas of Paroda and reviewed the situation on the ground. Alemao directed officials to prioritize public safety and implement effective and immediate measures to address the recurring issue.
“This has been a long-pending problem. Despite repeatedly raising it during Assembly sessions, there has been no concrete action from the government,” Alemao said. He criticized the Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar for failing to fulfill his assurance of desilting the river, which remains unaddressed.
He urged the government to treat the matter with urgency and provide timely relief to the residents of Paroda and other affected areas.
