Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai, along with councillors of the Margao Municipality and party supporters, today inaugurated major infrastructure works in the Borda area, covering Andrade Waddo, Ferrera Waddo, and Barreto Waddo. These long-pending projects, worth over ₹3 crores, aim to provide road connectivity, sewerage access, and power supply to nearly 50 houses, predominantly belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.

Speaking at the event, Sardesai highlighted the challenges faced by these areas due to land and ownership disputes, which had delayed the provision of basic necessities for years. “These areas were like a rural village, not part of a city. The residents suffered due to the lack of sewerage connectivity, proper roads, and power lines. It was an embarrassment for the city of Fatorda,” he said.

He further assured the residents that their needs and concerns would be prioritized during the execution of the works. “We have followed up extensively to ensure that these areas receive the development they deserve. If any structures, like toilets, need to be demolished during the work, they will be reconstructed. We urge the residents to support the contractor to ensure the smooth completion of these projects,” Sardesai added.

The infrastructure works are expected to transform the living conditions in Andrade Waddo, Ferrera Waddo, and Barreto Waddo, integrating them into the larger framework of Fatorda’s progress and development. Sardesai reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that no section of the constituency is left behind in the march toward development.
