Vedanta Sesa Goa Recognises 250+ Academic Achievers under Project ‘Vriddhi’

In a continued effort to support students from rural belt, Vedanta Sesa Goa – Iron Ore Goa (IOG) as part of its community development initiative Project ‘Vriddhi’, felicitated over 250 meritorious students from Maem with scholarships, at a ceremony held at Sateri temple, Kumbharwada Maem.

The initiative aimed to extend financial support to students of class 10th & 12th who have achieved academically, and to motivating them to continue to strive in their educational journey. Students from Ideal High School, Piligao; Mahamaya High School, Maem; Vijyanand High School, Maem; Vijyanand Higher Secondary School, Maem; and Government High School, Sirigao were awarded with scholarships during the programme.

The ceremony was graced by Mr. Premendra Shet,Hon’ble MLA for Maem Constituency who encouraged the students and said “ I congratulate all students who have been provided scholarships by Vedanta Sesa Goa & wish them the very best for their future endeavours. I also commend Vedanta Sesa Goa for its consistent efforts in supporting educational development at the grassroots level. Recognising academic merit through initiatives like Project ‘Vriddhi’ not only encourages students but also strengthens the foundation for a progressive and educated society,” said Shri Premendra Shet, Hon’ble MLA, Mayem Constituency.

The event also graced by Shri Vasudev Gaonkar, Sarpanch, VP Mayem, Smt. Vedika Shirgaonkar, Sarpanch, VP Sirigao, Shri Umakant Prabhugaonakar – Dy. Sarpanch, VP Piligao, Shri Dilip Shet – Member, VP Mayem, Shri Sunil Vainganakar – Member, VP Piligao. Representing Vedanta Sesa Goa were Mr. Laxman Gawas, Dy Head-Mining Operations, Bicholim, and other Company executives, who joined the community in celebrating the achievements of the students.

“It was a proud moment for our family. Seeing our child recognised on such a respected platform has given us renewed hope and motivation. We are truly grateful to Vedanta and Project ‘Vriddhi’ for this meaningful recognition,” said Mrs. Sunita Naik, parent from Piligao.

“Encouragement of this kind means a great deal, especially for children in rural areas. It shows them that their efforts are valued, and it pushes them to dream bigger. Sincere thanks to Vedanta and the organisers for making this day so special,” shared Mr. Rajesh Sawant, parent from Mayem.
