TAG to Honor Young Tiatr Artists with Young Achievers Awards 2024

The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) has announced the recipients of its prestigious Young Achievers Awards 2024, recognizing three talented artists: Holly Rodrigues, Jennifer Fernando, and Tracy Xaverina Dias (Tracy De Calangute). This recognition celebrates their outstanding contributions to the Konkani Tiatr scene, highlighting their dedication and exceptional performances.

The announcement was made by TAG President Anthony Barbosa at a press conference in Panjim, alongside Member Secretary Suresh Divkar. The awards will be presented on November 16, 2024, at 3:30 pm at the Black Box, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, coinciding with the birth anniversary celebration of Regina Fernandes, known as the First Lady of the Tiatr stage. The event will feature Ester Noronha, a prominent theatre personality from Mangalore, as the Chief Guest, and senior tiatrist Sharon Mazarello as the Guest of Honour.

Awardees and Achievements:

Holly Rodrigues: Known as the “Rockstar” of the Konkani stage, Holly is a versatile performer trained at Pilar Music School in Margao. Starting his career at the age of five, he has excelled as a singer, actor, and guitarist, earning numerous awards, including the Kantaram Scholarship twice. Holly has performed in competition and commercial tiatrs directed by renowned tiatrists, solidifying his reputation in the industry.

Jennifer Fernando: Since her debut in 2018 in a tiatr by Mario Menezes, Jennifer has become a celebrated actress and singer in Konkani theatre and film. She has appeared in three acclaimed Konkani films, one of which is set to be screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024. Her collaborations with respected directors such as Menino de Bandar and Franky Gonsalves have cemented her position as a versatile and dedicated artist.

Tracy Xaverina Dias (Tracy De Calangute): A rising star known for her acting and singing, Tracy has been a regular performer since her debut in 2016. She has directed the award-winning tiatr “Fulanchea Sangatak Kantte-i Apnnayat” and has won several accolades in Kala Academy competitions. Tracy’s collaborations with notable tiatrists, including Joaquim Dias and Fr. Doel Dias, showcase her deep passion and commanding stage presence.
