Spaces’ Travelling Exhibition Comes to Goa

Brand Hosts an Exhibit in Goa to Celebrate its Centenary Year!

Goa, November 3rd, 2022: As part of their 100th-anniversary celebrations this year, Bharat Floorings & Tiles (BFT) – a brand rooted in the legacy of the Swadeshi movement, who introduced locally-made, long-lasting cement tiles at half the cost of imported tiles – is pleased to announce the launch of a very special travelling exhibit in Goa between the 11th through 19th of November, 2022 at the Josmo Studio in Porvorim.

The travelling exhibition’s highlight will be the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’, displaying BFT’s past and present with curios and archival objects. The cabinet will provide a tactile experience to visitors as they interact with objects infused with meanings and stories from BFT’s trove. The launch of BFT’s ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ will take place on Saturday, 12th November, 2022.

In addition to the display at the exhibit, BFT has also planned a heritage walk on Sunday, 13th November, between 10am – 12pm, to explore quarters in the city where the brand has contributed to conserving heritage structures. There will also be tile-making workshops which will allow visitors to get up close and personal with the process of manufacturing tiles.

To cap off the Goa activation, BFT has also planned a panel discussion, which will also happen on Saturday, 12th November, 2022 between 5:30pm – 7pm. It will be moderated by Ayaz Basrai, Principal Architect & Co-Founder – The Busride Design Studio and see design and décor experts, such as Dean Gabriel D’Cruz, Partner & Principal Architect – Mozaic Design Combine, Meetu Akali, Architect & Founder –Studio Momo Architecture & Design, and Fernando Velho, Architect, Researcher & Visiting Professor – Goa College of Architecture, who will talk about and share their views on the transformation of the visual landscape of Goa, along with concerns about the preservation of heritage sites.

The role of legacy companies like Bharat Floorings and Tiles in safeguarding Goan architecture, with their understanding of traditional architectural practices and a commitment to handicrafts will also be brought out by way of the discussion.
