Mapusa, 20th November 2024 – A fascinating and informative session on Skin Care and Hair Maintenance was recently held at Mapusa Residency, organized by the SMRC’s V. M Salgaocar Hospital in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Mapusa. Eighteen members of the Club had witnessed the talk, presented by renowned dermatologist and cosmetologist, Dr. Preeti Savardekar,as she provided valuable insights into skin health, anti-aging solutions, and effective hair care techniques.
The session started by presenting a token of appreciation to Dr. Preeti by the President of the Rotaract Club of Mapusa Sanjali Nagvekar.
Among the key topics discussed, she introduced the treatment of Microneedling Radio Frequency (RF), a non-invasive procedure to address skin issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars, open pores, and skin sagging.
She emphasized the importance of personalized skin care routines, as every person’s skin is constantly changing and adapting to its environment. She highlighted several factors influencing skin health, such as hormonal imbalances, stress, sleep disturbances, and environmental factors.
The importance of sunscreen was explained at a higher level. As of how “The skin is the largest organ of the body, and it requires constant care and nourishment to remain healthy,”.
On the topic of hair care, Dr. Preeti offered practical tips to maintain strong, shiny hair, such as avoiding combing hair when wet, using conditioner only on hair strands (not the scalp), and steering clear of excessive chemical treatments like frequent coloring or straightening.
Dr. Preeti concluded by encouraging everyone to regularly examine their skin and hair, understand their unique needs, and adopt mindful routines to maintain their overall well-being. The members of the Rotaract Club of Mapusa were very much engaged with Dr. Preeti and raised interesting queries for their personal knowledge.
