Panaji, Goa | October 28, 2026: The Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) – Goa Chapter will organise its prestigious Editors Meet 2026 on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Terminal Banquets, Caculo Mall, Panaji, from 10:30 a.m. onwards, followed by lunch. The event will focus on the theme “AI & The Future of Media: Reshaping Journalism, PR & Digital Communication.”

Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, will be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the Meet. The programme will bring together senior editors, journalists, media professionals, communication experts, academicians and industry representatives to deliberate on the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on journalism, public relations, digital communication and society.

The Editors Meet aims to provide a meaningful platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges AI presents, particularly in the evolving media landscape. With the growing use of AI in newsrooms, digital platforms and public communication, the discussions will explore how technology can be adopted responsibly while safeguarding journalistic credibility, ethics and public trust.

The inauguration will be attended by PRCI Goa Chapter Chairman Shri Deepak Narvekar, Vice Chairman Shri Waman Prabhu, Secretary Shri Nikhil Wagh, Treasurer Shri John Aguiar, along with other office bearers and members of the Chapter.

Speaking ahead of the event, Shri Deepak Narvekar, Chairman, PRCI Goa Chapter, said, “Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way information is created, verified and consumed. Through the Editors Meet 2026, we aim to bring together experienced editors and communication professionals to discuss how the media can embrace technological advancements while upholding credibility, ethical standards and public trust. We also hope to inspire students and young professionals to prepare for the emerging opportunities in journalism, public relations and digital communication.”

The key areas of discussion will include the role of AI in Goa’s socio-economic development, misinformation and the responsibility of editors in protecting credibility, human intelligence versus artificial intelligence, and the AI revolution in media, from newsrooms to digital newsfeeds. The Meet will also explore emerging career opportunities for Goan youth in public relations, journalism and digital communication, while encouraging the ethical, responsible and inclusive use of AI.

A major highlight of the programme will be the Editors’ Round Table, moderated by renowned academician Prof. Dr. Manoj Kamat. Editors from mainstream media organisations in Goa will share their perspectives on the theme, offering insights into the changing dynamics of journalism and the responsibilities of the media in an increasingly technology-driven environment. Senior editors and journalists will also be felicitated for their contributions to the field of journalism.

The programme is expected to be particularly beneficial for students pursuing Media, Journalism, Public Relations and Mass Communication, providing them with an opportunity to engage with industry leaders and understand the changing professional landscape.

PRCI Goa Chapter has consistently organised programmes, seminars and workshops for journalists, media professionals and communication students. The Chapter also played an instrumental role in organising the Global Communication Conclave in Goa last year, which received wide acclaim. The Editors Meet 2026 marks another initiative by the Chapter to encourage meaningful dialogue and strengthen the media and communication ecosystem in Goa.
