NCP Confirms: No Entry to Churchill Alemao in NCP, Leadership Continues with President Jose Phillip D’souza

Panaji: Former Chief Minister of Goa, Churchill Alemao, is reportedly considering joining the NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Alemao’s meeting with Rajya Sabha MP and NCP’s national working president, Praful Patel, in Mumbai has fueled speculation after his resignation from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Alemao’s visit was not exclusively political; he highlighted his personal friendship with Patel and their shared interest in football during the meeting.

Alemao had previously joined the TMC ahead of last year’s Goa Assembly elections, leaving behind a political history that includes affiliations with Congress and being the sole NCP MLA in the Goa Assembly.

However, Sharad Pawar’s NCP spokesperson, Clyde Crasto, clarified that Alemao’s potential move to the NCP had not been accepted. The Goa NCP will continue to be led by President Jose Phillip D’souza, working under the guidance of NCP National President Sharad Pawar.
