PANAJI: Aldona constituency’s persistent power woes prompted local MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira to engage in discussions with Power Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar on Friday, seeking urgent measures to address the ongoing grievances.

Accompanied by a delegation of residents and panchayat members, Ferreira highlighted the frequent power fluctuations plaguing the constituency despite pre-monsoon maintenance efforts. Expressing concern over the regular outages, often lasting for prolonged periods, Ferreira emphasized the detrimental impact on residents’ daily lives.

In his meeting with the minister, Ferreira stressed the need for additional resources, including staff and vehicles, to effectively tackle power-related issues. He emphasized the urgency of augmenting manpower at the local division and providing an extra vehicle to enhance response capabilities across the constituency.

Furthermore, Ferreira urged the deployment of more personnel at the Gavar substation to expedite resolution of power concerns in the area. Addressing specific challenges in Bastora, Ferreira proposed relocating the Guirim feeder to alleviate recurring failures, underscoring the importance of strategic stationing of staff for prompt assistance.

The discussions underscored Ferreira’s commitment to advocating for improved power infrastructure and services in Aldona, with collaborative efforts aimed at mitigating disruptions and enhancing efficiency.
