Minister Subhash Phal Dessai Participates in National Trekking Expedition at Manohargad, Maharashtra

28 December 2024: Sahas Academy, Goa, in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology, Government of Goa, is hosting the 33rd Dipaji Rane National Trekking Expedition – 2024. The event commemorates 33 years of trekking expeditions and explores the historic forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, including Parghad, Manohargad, and Ranganagad, from December 26 to 28, 2024.

The expedition aims to raise awareness about historical sites, promote cleanliness, and facilitate minor restoration efforts on the forts. A total of 66 participants are part of this adventurous journey.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, flagged off the event on December 26, 2024, at Sakhali, Goa. Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, Hon’ble Minister for Archaeology, joined the trekking expedition and covered a 6-kilometer trek to the Manohargad Fort in Kudal, Maharashtra, on December 27, 2024.

This unique initiative underscores the importance of preserving historic heritage while fostering a spirit of adventure and community participation.
