Goa, August 2024 – In a joint effort to enhance children’s health and well-being, St. Bartholomew’s High School (Primary Section) organized a comprehensive nutrition talk for the parents of primary students (Std 1-4). This initiative, held in collaboration with Manipal Hospital Goa, reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds by promoting holistic development through proper nutrition.

The session was led by Senior Dietician, Ms. Sharvari Gude from Manipal Hospital Goa, who provided invaluable insights into the critical role that nutrition plays in children’s growth and overall well-being. Topics covered included the nutritional requirements for different age stages, the significance of a balanced diet, and practical tips for incorporating healthy foods into daily meals. Ms. Gude also emphasized the importance of hydration, managing picky eating habits, and understanding food labels to make informed dietary choices.

Highlighting the importance of this educational initiative, Ms. Gude remarked, “A healthy diet in childhood lays the foundation for lifelong health. Our goal is to equip parents with the knowledge and tools they need to nurture healthy eating habits in their children, which will benefit them throughout their lives.”
The event saw active participation from the parents, who were eager to learn and share their experiences during the interactive Q&A session. The presence of HM, Mrs. Manisha Mendonca and coordination by Sir Frazel Afonso underscored the school’s dedication to its mission of developing students as lifelong learners, instilling values of self-discipline, integrity, and service to all.

St. Bartholomew’s High School is committed to training young people as global citizens and leaders by developing their character based on spirituality and excellence in knowledge and skills. This event aligns with the school’s broader vision to equip students with the tools to be peacemakers and face future challenges while fostering a deep sense of commitment and responsibility to the nation and humanity.

Through this collaboration with Manipal Hospital Goa, the school hopes to inspire parents to adopt healthier lifestyles for their families, thereby reducing the risk of diet-related health issues in the community. This initiative is a testament to St. Bartholomew’s ongoing efforts to ensure the holistic development of its students.
