During Zero hour, LoP Yuri Alemao raised issue of the security guards engaged under the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation in government run hospitals and other government establishments who bear the burden of 18% GST whilst receiving their monthly salaries.
He said that the security guards provide an essential service and further those recruited as guards belong largely to economically weak families. 18% GST is a crushing burden as it substantially reduces their take home monthly income. This House expects a firm assurance from the Hon. Chief Minister that their full monthly take home salary would be secured and deductions made will be reimbursed with retrospective effect.
