In response to the desperate pleas of college students who were denied marks and credits for volunteering at the National Games despite a Registrar’s circular from Goa University, Congress Party’s Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira intervened personally. He contacted the Registrar, warning that the situation could be considered a case of cheating, with those responsible potentially facing criminal action. Following this, the Registrar assured Ferreira that he had discussed the matter with the Vice-Chancellor and that the university would comply with the circular and issue revised results. The issue was subsequently resolved, with Goa University agreeing to grant the promised marks and credits for the National Games.

“We must not play with the futures of our youth who have given their best for the National Games,” said Ferreira.
