Pernem: It is loud and clear that the BJP Government is all out to hand over prime public services in Goa to the Crony Capitalists. The Government is deliberately delaying Taxi Counter to Local Taxi Operators with a hidden agenda of getting App based taxi operators from outside Goa, charged Congress President Amit Patkar.

Congress President met the agitating Taxi Operators who are demanding Taxi Counter at Mopa International Airport under the banner of “Together for Mopa Airport”. Congress Leader, Adv. Jitendra Gaonkar, North Goa District President Virendra Shirodkar, Vijay Bhike and others were also present and extended their support to the agitating Taxi Operators.

Reminding the people of Goa about the statement made by Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho to bring Ola and Uber in Goa, Amit Patkar said that I have information from reliable sources that two Ministers of the BJP Government are in the process of starting App based Taxi Operations in Goa by engaging outsiders.

Congress Party has always respected the sentiments and emotions of the people of Goa. Our Congress Government in the past scrapped three SEZ’s and Regional Plan on demand of Goans, said Amit Patkar.

Congress Party demands that the Government should have a sympathetic approach towards the local Taxi Operators. People of Pernem Taluka have sacrificed for Mopa Airport and they should be supported by the Government on top priority, said Amit Patkar.
