During his keynote address, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism & ITE&C, Government of Goa, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte emphasized the rapid evolution of Goa into a hub for creative and technical innovation. He highlighted the strategic focus of the State’s Department of ITE&C on fostering creativity, promoting remote work, and enhancing digital infrastructure.

Highlighting the State’s strategic focus, the Minister elaborated on Goa’s efforts to transform into India’s “Design Capital.” The Department of ITE&C is committed to nurturing an environment for designers, artists, and digital nomads. The Homestay Policy is attracting digital nomads, and we are working with the central government to implement a Digital Nomad Visa. By December, we will have co-working spaces on the beaches with high-speed internet connectivity to support remote professionals,” he said.

The Minister shared the State’s commitment to regenerative tourism, which not only focuses on sustainability but seeks to restore ecosystems and empower local communities. He reiterated that both the Departments of Tourism and ITE&C are working hand-in-hand to create a seamless blend of technology and culture in Goa.

He further emphasized key initiatives, including the IT Policy, Startup Policy, and Drone Policy, all aimed at equipping local entrepreneurs with the resources and support needed for success. The Minister invited attendees to actively contribute to Goa’s transformative journey toward a future driven by creativity, technological innovation, and impactful collaboration.
