Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has voiced strong criticism of CM Dr. Pramod Sawant after he refused to meet activists opposing the Bhutani’s Sancoale project while attending an event sponsored by the same company. Sardesai accused the CM of favoring builders, questioning whether he has become the “CEO of the Hill Cutting Builders Association.” He reminded the CM of his assembly promise to review the controversial project and stressed that the people, not builders, elect their leaders.

Sardesai also highlighted new revelations of irregularities in the project and expressed concern over the government’s inaction. He labeled the entire cabinet as brokers for unscrupulous builders, with the Chief Minister’s Office acting as a “one-window clearance” for the land mafia. He warned that the people of Goa will not remain silent and are prepared to take to the streets to defend the state’s hills from destruction.
