Panaji: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has conveyed its warm congratulations to Bahujan Samaj leader Girish Chodankar on his appointment as a permanent invitee to the Congress Working Committee (CWC).

This development is being hailed as a moment of pride for Congress workers and supporters in the state. Girish Chodankar, a representative of the common man, has now secured a place in the esteemed CWC, where numerous influential leaders contribute to the nation’s progress. Expressing gratitude, GPCC Media Chairman Amarnath Panjikar acknowledged the efforts of leader Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress members for providing Goa with this opportunity on the CWC platform.

Over the past several years, Girish Chodankar has actively championed the interests of the Bahujan Samaj, fostering strong bonds with the community. This achievement reflects the honor bestowed upon the samaj by having its leader represent them at the national level,” Panjikar noted.

Girish Chodankar’s journey began as a booth incharge and later saw him rise to the position of Youth Congress President. His dedication and impressive performance led Rahul Gandhi to promote him to AICC secretary, entrusting him with the responsibilities of NSUI’s In-Charge. Eventually, he was appointed as the GPCC President, while also being tasked with overseeing the ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ program in the Telangana state.

His contributions extend beyond politics, as Chodankar formerly held the positions of President in the Goa Kho Kho Association and the Higher Secondary School Teachers’ Association in Goa. He also played a significant role as Vice President in the ‘Goa Olympic Association’ in the past.
