FDA Cracks Down on Substandard Cashew Supplier in Calangute, Seizes 3,000 Kgs of Low-Quality Stock

In an ongoing surveillance drive in Calangute, the FDA seized approximately 3,000 kilograms of substandard cashew from a supplier, valued at around Rs. 3,00,000. The operation was led by Designated Officer Richard Noronha, with support from Senior Food Safety Officer Rajaram Patil and FSOs Lenin de Sa, Madhav Kavlekar, Safia Khan, and Vishwas Rane, under the guidance of FDA Director Shweta Dessai. Legal samples were drawn by Food Safety Officer Bhakti Walke. The food business operator implicated in this offense has been identified as Avinash Powar from Azara, Maharashtra.
