Margao – Concerned with safety of Madganvkars, sent 2nd Reminder to South Goa Collector to undertake trimming of trees posing danger to people in Aquem. Rains with gusty winds these days can bring down the branches causing disaster. Government of Goa will be responsible for any untoward incident, warned Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
I had written a Letter to South Goa Collector on 22nd July 2024 drawing his attention to the overgrown tree branches at Aquem posing danger to people. Collector immediately directed PWD to do the trimming with an Order dated 23rd July 2024, pointed Prabhav Naik.
It is shocking that the Public Works Department has failed to undertake the work in last 3 months. I understand that cheap politics is being played with a fear that credit will go to me if the branches are trimmed, claimed Prabhav Naik.
Weather condition in Goa is very stormy these days. Diwali festival is also very near. I am worried of safety of senior citizens, children and public property. I am not demanding this for my personal benefit, said Prabhav Naik.
I hope Collector will take immediate action, failing which i will write to Collector again and seek his permission to undertake the work engaging labours with my own cost, stated Prabhav Naik.
I appeal to all not to give political angles to works which are in public interest. If one cant do the work, they should allow others to do it, said Prabhav Naik.
