Dabolim Airport on High Alert After Bomb Threat Email; Increased Security Ensued, Operations Unaffected

Panaji, April 29: An unsettling email hinting at a potential bomb threat at Dabolim airport in South Goa prompted immediate action from authorities on Monday. Speaking with officials, airport director S V T Dhanamjaya Rao disclosed the reception of the alarming message in the morning, sparking a surge in security measures on the premises.

“We’re taking every precautionary measure necessary. Security has been significantly bolstered, although flight operations remain unaffected,” assured Rao.

Following a formal complaint filed by airport authorities, Goa police swiftly mobilized, deploying the bomb disposal squad to sweep the area, ensuring a meticulous search.

“We’re leaving no stone unturned, adhering strictly to protocol,” affirmed a police official.

Amid the investigation, airport authorities are vigorously pursuing the origins of the concerning email, which was also dispatched to several other airports across the nation.
