Panaji: The Goa Congress has hit back strongly at BJP leader Giriraj Pai Vernekar, accusing him of peddling fabricated, divisive narratives in an attempt to distract from the BJP’s governance failures.

In a scathing response, Amarnath Panjikar, Chairman of the GPCC Media Department, said, “BJP’s desperation is on full display. Giriraj Pai Vernekar’s hate-driven statements are not only misleading but reek of confusion and political bankruptcy. It’s laughable that someone known for misinformation is now targeting our leaders without even bothering to check facts.”

Panjikar added that the Congress has consistently maintained that this is not the time for partisan politics. “Mr. Vernekar should take the time to read our clear and unifying message instead of indulging in baseless attacks. Unfortunately, expecting common sense and concern for national interest from BJP’s propagandists seems too much.”

He further accused the BJP of hypocrisy, reminding them of their politicization of national security after the Pehalgam terror attack. “If Mr. Vernekar is confused, perhaps the BJP IT Cell can provide him with another round of spoon-fed talking points,” Panjikar remarked.

“The people of Goa and India are not blind. They can see through this orchestrated drama. BJP is exposed and cornered, which is why it is trying to twist every issue for political gain,” he said.

The Congress party reaffirmed its commitment to stand with the people and uphold truth and justice, while rejecting the BJP’s attempts to divert attention through “manufactured lies and hate-fueled narratives.”
