Congress MLAs  Wear Black as Mark of Protest on Disqualification of Rahul Gandhi

Panaji: All three Congress MLAs including Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira and Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa today came to the Goa Legislative Assembly wearing Black Clothes as a mark of protest on disqualification of Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi.

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao had moved a Congratulatory Motion congratulating Rahul Gandhi for successfully completing “Bharat Jodo Yatra” from Kanyakumari to Kashmir spreading the message of Unity, Integrity, Peace and Harmony and Listening to the Grievances of the People on Unemployment and Inflation. The said Motion was Disallowed by the Speaker.

Is it a crime to walk 4000 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with a Mission to keep the Country united questioned Yuri Alemao when the Speaker took up the Congratulatory References immediately after the Question Hour was over. Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa also urged the Speaker to take up the Motion.

We strongly condemn the Disqualification of Nation’s Leader Rahul Gandhi who spoke the truth and exposed the Crony Capitalist Agenda of the BJP Government. As a mark of Protest all three of us are wearing Black today, said Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao speaking to the Media.

Aldona MLA Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira and Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa also condemned the Act of Disqualification and also expressed Anger over Speaker not allowing the Congratulatory Motion on Rahul Gandhi. This Government wants to finish Democracy, they said.
