Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated an exhibition on the three new criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — at Kala Academy in the presence of senior police and prosecution officials.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said Goa ranks No. 1 in the country in the implementation of the new criminal laws, congratulating the Goa Police, judiciary, prosecution and the entire criminal justice system for the achievement. He said the exhibition, featuring 10 informative stalls by the Police, Judiciary, Directorate of Prosecution, Forensic Science, Medical and Prison Departments, showcases the entire criminal justice process — from filing of FIR, investigation and forensic analysis to prosecution, court proceedings and post-mortem — through informative and creative presentations.

The Chief Minister stated that the new criminal laws, introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, represent a major shift towards a citizen-centric, transparent and technology-driven justice system focused on speedy justice and victim empowerment. He added that such awareness initiatives are important to help citizens understand their rights and the evolving legal framework.
