Panaji, April 19, 2026: The seven-day Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parshuram Avtaran Mahotsav 2026 was inaugurated this evening at the Bhagwan Parshuram Pratima, Mandovi Promenade, Panaji, by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant. The Mahotsav, being held from 19th to 26th April 2026, commemorates the birth anniversary of Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parshuram Ji and aims to promote Goa as a centre for spiritual and cultural tourism.
The festival is organised by Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad (Goa Pradesh Chapter) and Panaji Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, and managed by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a traditional Kalash Yatra and Lamp Lighting, followed by a Mahaarti of Bhagwan Parshuram performed by priests from Kashi. A Light and Sound Show depicting the life and teachings of Bhagwan Parshuram was also presented on the Parshuram Pratima.
Inaugurating the Mahotsav, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, _“Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parshuram Avtaran Mahotsav is a commendable initiative that brings our spiritual heritage and cultural values to the forefront. Bhagwan Parshuram symbolises dharma, courage, and service, values that must inspire our youth. I congratulate the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad, Panaji Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, Department of Information and Publicity, and ESG for organising this grand celebration. I invite all Goans and devotees from across India to come to Mandovi Promenade over the next seven days, participate in the Katha Vachan, Mahaarti, and cultural programmes, and experience our rich traditions. This festival will strengthen devotion, unity, and Goa’s identity as a spiritual destination.”
The inauguration was held in the presence of Guests of Honour Smt. Delilah Lobo, MLA Siolim & Vice Chairman of ESG, Shri. Jit Arolkar, MLA of Mandrem Constituency and Shri. Damu Naik, BJP President. Special Guests Shri. Sunil Bharala, Founder, Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad and Former Minister, UP Govt., and Shri. Shrihari Athalye, Academician, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Goa, were also present.
Cultural programmes included Ganesh Vandana (Bharat Natyam), Bhagwan Parshuram Gatha (Act), Bhargavaram Charitam (Bharat Natyam), and Parshuram Anand Utsav (Kathak). A major highlight was the Music CD launch of devotional song ‘Om Parashuramaya Namaha’, written by Ranjita Raikar Nagvekar and sung by Akshay Prakash Naik, with pamphlets containing QR codes distributed to download the song. The evening concluded with a 25-minute Mahaarti and a Light and Sound Show on the Bhagwan Parshuram Pratima. The Mahotsav will continue till 26th April 2026 with daily events including Bhagwan Parshuram Katha Vachan by Param Pujya Dilip Krishna Bhardwaj Ji Maharaj from 20th to 24th April, Mahaarti every evening, Light and Sound Show daily, along with pooja ceremonies, cultural programmes, and devotional gatherings.
