Panaji, June 30, 2023: In response to a complaint filed by social activists Kashinath Shetye, Krishna Pandit, Preminder Vernekar, and Inacio Domnic Pereira, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has issued an order to DLF Limited, demanding the removal of material debris and clearance of the Service Lane at Patto Plaza. The complaint raised concerns about the encroachment in the locality, prompting the CCP to take action.

In a letter dated June 28, 2023, the CCP notified DLF Limited that their application for the use of the Service Road on a temporary basis had not provided sufficient justification for an extension of four months. Consequently, their request was denied.

DLF Limited has been given a deadline of 10 days to comply with the directive, ensuring the removal of all material debris and clearance of the Service Lane. Failure to comply may result in further legal actions.

Additionally, the CCP has imposed a fine of Rs. 100,000.00 on DLF Limited for illegally occupying the Service Lane and causing obstruction in the locality. The fine is to be paid in favor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji through The South Indian Bank Ltd., Current Account Number: 0137073000000097, IFSC Code: SIBL0000137, MICR: 403059002.

This development follows the efforts of social activists who raised concerns about the encroachment and brought the matter to the attention of relevant departments. The CCP’s action highlights their commitment to addressing such issues and ensuring the proper use of public spaces.
