Panaji: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP), under the leadership of Hon’ble Mayor Shri Rohit Monserrate, carried out an early morning outreach and rehabilitation drive in collaboration with the Panjim Police, El Shaddai Charitable Trust, and CCP officials.
The initiative builds on similar efforts carried out previously and will continue as part of an ongoing approach to identify and assist individuals living on the streets and those experiencing homelessness, while facilitating access to safe shelter and support services.
At the same time, the efforts also contribute towards maintaining Panaji’s streets and alleys as safe, clean, and well-managed public spaces, while working towards reducing street begging through rehabilitation.
Through a coordinated and sensitive approach, teams engaged with individuals on the ground and facilitated access to shelter and rehabilitation services, supporting their well-being. Such initiatives contribute to improving overall public health, safety, and urban management in Panaji.
