Panaji: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections in Goa. The list, finalised by the party’s State Election Committee, features nominees across both North Goa and South Goa constituencies.
In South Goa, the party has announced four candidates.
- For the Dharbandora (18) constituency, the BJP has fielded Shri Rupesh Ramnath Desai under the General category.
- In Rivona (19), the party has nominated Sou. Rajeshree Rajesh Gaonkar, contesting from the Women (ST) reservation category.
- The Barcem (21) seat will see Sou. Anjali Arjun Velip contesting under the Women category.
- For Poinguinim (23), the General category candidate is Shri Ajit @ Ajay Shantaram Lolyekar.
The BJP stated that the remaining names will be released in the next list.
In North Goa, the second list includes candidates across multiple constituencies.
- In Arambol (01), Sou. Manisha Santosh Korkankar has been named as the party’s Women category candidate.
- For Siolim (05), Shri Mahesh Manohar Govekar will contest under the General category.
- The Aldona (07) seat will be represented by Shri Subhash Krishna Morajkar, also under the General category.
- In Anjuna (09), the BJP has fielded Shri Narayan Ladu Mandrekar from the OBC category.
- The Chimbel (16) constituency candidate is Sou. Gauri Pramod Kamat, contesting under the Women category.
- For St. Lawrence (18), Mrs. Paulina Oliveira @ Francis Po has been selected under the Women (OBC) reservation category.
The party leadership conveyed that the candidate selections reflect organisational strategy and ground-level feedback as the BJP prepares for the Zilla Panchayat polls.
