Panaji – Bhartiya Janata Party is running Tanker Mafia in nine talukas of Goa with zero revenue to Government. We demand that Government must immediately appoint a high level inquiry commission under Retd. High Court Judge to investigate the operations of water tankers in Goa and role of various Government Departments in promoting illegalities in the said business, demanded Congress President Amit Patkar.

Congress President Amit Patkar while speaking to Media after submitting Memorandum to Water Resource Department demanding action against the Water Tanker found carrying Sewage at Sancoale, presented documentary evidence to substantiate his claim that Government gets revenue from Water Tanker operators only from Pernem, Bardez and Tiswadi Taluka.

There is absolutely no control of Water Resource Department on Water Tanker operations in Goa. This has resulted in direct threat to the health of the people due to blatant violations of guidelines by greedy Tanker Operators, stated Amit Patkar.

It is shocking that WRD Engineer Pramod Badami after getting grilled by us over total negligence by his department over the incident of Water Tanker carrying sewage at Sancoale had to open admit and appeal to Goans not to use tanker water for drinking purpose, Amit Patkar said.

We are fighting for the rights of people of Goa. Government must refrain from using Police force to supress our voice. BJP Government will have to pay heavy price if they use high handedness, warned Amarnath Panjikar.

Insensitive BJP Government stands totally exposed with its mismanagement of Water Distribution during peak Summer. This Government has no right to stay in power, said Adv. Srinivas Khalap.

Congress Delegation comprised of Capt. Viriato Fernandes, Mahila Congress President Beena Naik, Virendra Shirodkar, Savio D’Silva, Everson Valles, Muktamala Shirodkar, Vijay Bhike, Moreno Rebelo, Adv. Jitendra Gaonkar, Sudin Naik Rajendra Korgaonkar, Sanjay Barde, Divya Kumar and others.
