Panaji: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come under scathing attack following the arrest of Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was taken into custody over an alleged liquor scam; AAP leaders staged a peaceful protest in front of the offices of BJP including Goa.

On Monday, several leaders marched to the BJP headquarters condemning the “undemocratic arrest” of Sisodia. “This is a vendetta against the AAP because the party is increasingly making its presence in many states. Our DyCM’s arrest ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election shows that BJP is afraid of AAP,” one of the leaders said while showing placards to protest the arrest.

The AAP leaders questioned why the arrest was needed when Sisodia was cooperating with the investigation team in the case, which was falsely implicated against the senior leader. They also sought action against several BJP leaders who are facing criminal and corruption charges, yet, sitting on the chair.
