Former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar has announced a Teachers’ Town Hall on September 6 at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao, providing a platform for members of Goa’s education fraternity to openly raise their concerns, grievances and challenges.
The town hall, being organised ahead of Teachers’ Day, will bring together Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary teachers, vocational teachers, librarians and non-teaching staff from across the state.
Patkar said Teachers’ Day should go beyond ceremonial celebrations and appreciation, stressing the need to listen to the issues faced by educators who play a crucial role in shaping the future of Goa.
He said the proposed interaction will allow teaching and non-teaching staff to speak directly about issues concerning working conditions, job security, service-related matters, administrative challenges and other grievances affecting the education sector.
“Those who build generations deserve dignity, fairness and justice. Their voices must reach those in power, and their concerns cannot be ignored or buried in files,” Patkar said, adding that the initiative is aimed at understanding the concerns of those at the heart of Goa’s education system.
Patkar has urged teachers and non-teaching staff from across Goa to participate in the town hall and openly share their experiences and concerns.
The Teachers’ Town Hall will be held on September 6, 2026, at 11 am at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao.
He appealed to members of the education fraternity to attend and make their voices heard, saying that their concerns deserve attention and action.
