Panaji – Amarnath Panjikar, Chairman of the Congress Media Cell, has criticized Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, suggesting that he lacks a deep understanding of Hindu Dharma and should engage in more meaningful study rather than relying on self-proclaimed political pundits within the RSS.

Panjikar’s comments come in response to Chief Minister Sawant’s remarks about the INDIA Alliance, asserting that regardless of BJP’s efforts, the unity of India will prevail.

Panjikar emphasized that Hindu Dharma is not the exclusive domain of any particular political party or leader. It is a Sanatan Dharma followed by people across political affiliations and party lines. He urged the Chief Minister to recognize that Hinduism is a universal spiritual belief system and not the private property of the BJP.

Panjikar also reminded that government funds should not be used for temple services or religious rituals, emphasizing that individuals holding constitutional positions should speak responsibly. He noted that the INDIA Alliance is not a political party but a coalition, with many Hindu leaders who have contributed to the preservation and respect of Hindu Dharma.

As Ganesh Chaturthi, the prominent Hindu festival in Goa, approaches, Panjikar highlighted the anticipation of financial assistance for needy Goans. He called on Chief Minister Sawant to release the pending 320 crore rupees in dues for Social Welfare beneficiaries, aligning this action with the teachings of Hindu Dharma, which encourages helping those in need.
