Panjim | April 21, 2025:
The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Goa today held a press conference at its state office in Panjim, reaffirming its commitment to Goan interests and unveiling a comprehensive plan to restructure the party at the grassroots level.

Buoyed by the overwhelming public support received after its recent press briefing and strong interventions in Parliament, AITC Goa emphasized its continued opposition to the dilution of the ST Reservation Bill and the rapid conversion of green zones into concrete developments that allegedly benefit a select few.

“Our voice is rooted in public interest and accountability,” the party said, asserting that it will continue to be a vocal force against policies that harm Goa’s environment, constitutional protections, and vulnerable communities.

Massive Organisational Restructuring in Motion

In a significant move, AITC Goa announced the dissolution of all existing committees and subcommittees, making way for a more transparent and inclusive leadership structure. A new State Committee is expected to be announced later this year, informed by insights from the party’s consistent ground-level outreach.

The party also revealed plans to expand its physical presence across the state. In addition to the operational state office in Panjim, two new regional offices will soon be set up to facilitate stronger public engagement.

Focused Parliamentary Push in Monsoon Session

As the Monsoon Session of Parliament approaches, AITC reaffirmed its commitment to raising key issues affecting Goa, particularly the ST Reservation Bill and environmental degradation. The party assured Goans that their concerns will continue to find strong representation at the national level.

AITC Reiterates Strong Opposition to Waqf Bill

The party also reiterated its firm opposition to the Waqf Bill, labeling it a constitutional issue rather than a religious one. AITC argued that the bill infringes upon the rights enshrined under Articles 25 and 26 of the Indian Constitution, which safeguard religious freedom and institutional autonomy.

“When we come to power, we will reverse this bill. Our opposition is unwavering, and we will fight it through all democratic and legal means,” the party declared.

The press conference concluded with a clear message: AITC Goa is evolving, expanding, and prepared to stand firm on issues that matter most to the people of Goa.
