In a heart-wrenching incident, a mother is running from pillar to post pleading for help to get her minor son from her estranged husband, who she claims abducted him a fortnight back.

The first complaint was filed by her mother (the child’s maternal grandmother) from whose custody the man is accused of forcibly taking away the couple’s son outside the nursery school premises on February 23. A subsequent complaint was filed by the minor’s mother alleging that the accused might harm the child.

“My husband forcibly grabbed the child and put him in the car, which was taken to an unknown location. The whereabouts of my child and his father are still not known. I request you to find them before it is too late,” the mother said in her complaint copy to the police.

The worried mother claimed she filed several complaints against her husband and his family for harassment and threat, despite which he did not stop his actions.

“He always visited our son whenever he wanted and I did not stop him but this is the height. He abducts our child to an unknown location and switched his phone off. His family is also not cooperating with us,” she alleged.

The Vasco and Fatorda police have made a failed attempt to trace the man and the child in Goa and Karwar. Police said it is a civil matter but they are going out of their way to help the distressed mother. “The search is on,” the officer said. However, no FIR is registered.

The child has missed his school since the day and the annual day function which was held on Saturday. The mother is contemplating to move the Court seeking intervention.
