In a joint operation led by the Legal Metrology Department, 18 HPCL domestic LPG cylinders were seized for short delivery during a raid conducted early this morning at 6 a.m. The raid was carried out under the supervision of Shri Arun Panchwadkar, Controller of Legal Metrology, Goa, and led by Shri Demu N Mapari, Assistant Controller, Central Zone. The team included Shri Nitin Purushan, Assistant Controller, South Zone, Shri Gulam Gulburg, Assistant Controller, North Zone, along with inspectors from various regions: Shri Vikas Kandolkar (Ponda-II), Shri Bhupendra Dessai (Margao-I), Shri Azen Rodriguez (Margao-II), and Shri Rajat Karapurkar (Ponda-I), assisted by their staff.
The cylinders were confiscated after being found in violation of the Legal Metrology Act for delivering less than the required weight.
Consumers are reminded to verify the weight of domestic LPG cylinders upon delivery using certified weighing instruments provided by the legal metrology department in delivery vehicles. In case of any discrepancies
