Sankhali, 16th November 2024 – Vithalapur, Sankhali, lit up with vibrancy and devotion on the auspicious evening of November 15th, 2024, as thousands gathered to experience the enchanting traditions of Tripurari Poornima. The festival, organized by the Department of Tourism, was graced by several esteemed dignitaries: Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Art and Culture Minister, Shri Govind Gaude, and Mayem MLA & Chairman of Horticulture, Shri Premendra Shet,
Sankhali Municipal Council Chairperson, Smt. Siddhi Porob and others.
The evening began with a sacred procession honoring Lord Shrikrishna, followed by a captivating cultural presentation. Crowds marveled at the beautiful Palkhi procession of Shree Vithal Rakhumai, which set a serene tone for the rest of the celebrations. Many gathered to witness the event, including locals, national visitors, and international tourists, creating a lively and diverse atmosphere.
The highlight of the night was the stunning Traditional Boat Show, a breathtaking display that honored Goa’s rich maritime heritage. The festival reached its thrilling climax with the symbolic ‘Tripurasur – Vadh’ performance and concluded with the awe-inspiring release of ‘Saranga’ into the starry sky.
Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, highlighted the festival’s importance for tourism stating “Events like Tripurari Poornima showcase Goa’s unique cultural identity to the world and offer visitors a memorable experience that combines spirituality and tradition.
