Sawant and Rane jointly selling out Goa and Goans says CWC Member and Former GPCC President Girish Chodankar

Panaji :- Chodankar said that over 35 lakh square metres of Goa’s lush green land have been transformed into settlement areas under the current administration’s in the last couple of months. He was addressing press conference at Congress house along with Chairman of Media Cell, Amarnath Panjikar, PCC General Secretary Archit Naik and John Nazareth.

He said that Rane and Sawant are engaged in a fierce competition to ravage Goa, their actions and demeanor suggest that they have acquired Goa as a dowry.

“If Pramod Sawant and TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane continue to hold the reins of power, they will undoubtedly annihilate Goa,” Chodankar said.

Chodankar accused Sawant and Rane of harboring the belief that Goa is their personal fiefdom, which they can sell and manipulate at their whim, stating that the “CM is mired in corruption.”

Chodankar questioned Sawant’s reluctance to disclose the findings of the one-man commission on land grabbing and the total number of perpetrators brought to justice. He also demanded an explanation from Sawant regarding the alteration of the status of forested land at Zuari during his tenure as the state’s forest minister.

Chodankar alleged that the police were extorting haftas from truck drivers and permitting their vehicles to pass through Anmod ghat, despite a notification prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles.

Chodankar said that the police claim that the collected money must be submitted to a “MADAM” in Sankhali and challenged Sawant to unveil the identity of this figure.

In conclusion, Chodankar pledged that the Congress party will steadfastly stand by the people and vehemently oppose the destruction of Goa’s pristine green land.
