Margao – I met Dr. Rajendra Borkar, Medical Superitendent of Hospicio South Goa District Hospital to discuss issues of Patient Registration,Shortage of Ambulances,Non-acceptance of Online Payments from Patients & Beds Shortage. I feel “Red Tapism” is the cause of all problems. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane must take note & ease the situation, stated Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.

Speaking to media after his meeting with Medical Superitendent, Prabhav Naik said that he has given some suggestions and Medical Superitendent has assured me to implement the same to ease hardships of patients.

I undertand that South Goa District Hospital has only 2 dedicated Ambulances which are allotted for Cardiac and Neonatal patients. All other patients including accidental cases are taken by 108 Ambulances. So far, no new Ambulances have come to SGDH as promised by many people including Health Minister Vishwajit Rane who had declared to give two Ambulances, pointed Prabhav Naik.

Medical Superitendent was kind enough to explain to me the ongoing system at OPDs. He has told me that Persons with Disabilities, Pregnant Women are given direct entry in OPDs. There are almost 300 chairs available at the Lobby for Senior Citizens and other Patients. It looks like Patients & Relatives create rush out of panic. This will be looked into by Hospital Administration, said Prabhav Naik.

It is shocking that Online or Digital Payments are not accepted from Patients at South Goa District Hospital. I want Health Minister Vishwwajit Rane to immediately clear the file & start online payment facility, demanded Prabhav Naik.

I have understood the difficulties faced by the Medical Staff due to acute Shortage of Beds at Hospicio Hospital. There are only 350 Beds now and urgent need of 150 more Beds. Government must also provide Manpower along with increasing the Beds, said Prabhav Naik.

I will keep following up all the issues till South Goa District Hospital is made fully functional with Tertiary Hospital status, Prabhav Naik said.
