Panaji: Congress Media Chairman Amarnath Panjikar on Thursday said that BJP spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar has has lost battle and has no material to defend BJP, hence he is using ‘Hindu Organisation’ card.
“Our Congress leader Yuri Alemao has said nothing against Hindu Organisations. BJP’s DNA baffles after inviting the wrath of the public, when it gives haven to anti-social elements and then it uses crutches of RSS. Secondly, we follow the ideology of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and not of Nathuram Godse,” Panjikar said.
“Giriraj Vernekar has lost the battle. He has no material to defend the BJP on land conversions, hill cutting and sale of Goa by all the Ministers. He has no answer to communal vitriolic let loose by BJP frontals. Smart Panaji has floored Giriraj. So, he takes pleasure in making false comments and cheap rhetoric on our LoP Yuri Alemao,” Panjikar said.
“Since past many months, BJP has witnessed heat over several issues like mass conversion of land, selling our assets to crony capitalists, corruption involved in Kala Academy-where work was awarded on nomination basis, job for sale, collapse of law and order, unemployment, mission total commission, road accidents, potholes on road etc, hence to divert all these issues, perplexed BJP is trying to use crutches of RSS,”Panjikar said.
“Instead of leveling allegations against Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should keep his word of taking action against those who speak against other religions,” Panjikar pointed out.
“Do Chief Minister or BJP dare to take action against Subhash Velingkar? No! because if they take action against crutches, how would they stand?,” he questioned.
“People of Goa are wise and they know how BJP has destroyed our beautiful state. Now they will not fall prey to their political gimmicks and diverting issues. We and other opposition parties have Hindus as our voters and supporters, hence the question doesn’t arise of hurting Hindu organisations. But there is a difference between us and BJP, where we don’t use religion cards to get political dividends,” Panjikar said.
“BJP’s DNA allows them to opt for any wrongdoing to save their skin, which Giriraj Pai Vernekar has been using. However, we appeal to the public not to fall prey to BJP’s tactics, which is losing ground across the country for spreading communal discord,” he said.
