Today on 10/09/2024 officer posted at Inline Screening Security & Vigilance, Manohar International Airport, Mopa complaint that on 10/09/2024 at 03.41 hrs at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, Pernem, Goa, accused Mr. Anshul Ghai, s/o Manoj Kumar Ghai, age 26 years, r/o Chukkhuwala, Dehradun, Uttrakhand, who was supposed to travel from Manohar International Airpprt, Mopa to Delhi while security screening detected 6 live rounds (Ammunation) in his baggage.
The accused could not produce any valid arms licence to carry and possess the rounds and also could not produce any permission from competent authority to carry the same in the Aircraft.
The matter was reported to Mopa Police station and
in this connection registered an offence u/s 3 r/w 25 of Arms Act, 1959.
During enquiry accused was interrogated and wherein he stated that on 07/09/2024 he travelled to Shirdi and on 08/09/2024, he along with his friends went to meet his chachi, Smt. Surekha w/o late Col. Mahesh Ghai at Khandwa, Pune and said chachi, Smt. Surekha w/o late Col. Mahesh Ghai gave him a bag as a memory of his chacha late Col. Mahesh Ghai and further they came to Goa and during screening the 6 live rounds were detected in the bag.
The fact was confirmed with said Chachi Smt. Surekha Ghai. (As per information said live rounds about 20 years old)
Mopa Police served accused with Notice u/s 35 of BNSS and further investigation are in progress with PI Mopa Narayan Chimulkar under Supervision of SP North Akshat Kaushal IPS and SDPO Pernem jivba Dalvi .
