On July 26, 2024, during the assembly session, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar voiced strong support for the demands and opposed the cut motions listed for the day. Speaking on Demand No. 43 related to Art & Culture, Amonkar thanked the Hon. Minister for Art & Culture for restarting the Ravindra Bhavan Baina auditorium after installing a new air conditioning system. He highlighted the urgent need for additional staff and maintenance funds to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. He also called for full-time instructors for music classes and the establishment of a library at Ravindra Bhavan Baina.
Turning to Demand No. 42 concerning Sports & Youth Affairs, Amonkar emphasized the immediate requirement for staff at the swimming pool at Headland Sada to facilitate coaching classes and accommodate requests from local institutions. He stressed the need for maintenance work at the Rose Circle Playground and requested a full-fledged gymnasium and the development of a football ground at Bogda. Additionally, Amonkar urged the government to recognize robotics as a formal sport, aligning with global trends and providing support systems for young talent in Goa.
