MAJOR DRUG BUST BY ANC: GERMAN NATIONAL ARRESTED WITH NARCOTICS WORTH ₹24 LAKH

In what is being termed as the biggest drug bust of 2025 so far, the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of the Goa Police conducted a late-night raid on Monday at a rented premises in Small Vagator, leading to the arrest of a 45-year-old German national, Sebastian Hesler. The police seized a large quantity of narcotics, including LSD blot papers, ketamine powder, ketamine liquid, and 2 kg of ganja, with an estimated international market value of ₹23.95 lakh.

Hesler, who had been living in Goa on a tourist visa since November last year, was apprehended following a week-long surveillance operation. The crackdown was a result of continued investigations and intelligence gathering after the arrest of a West Bengal native, Agni Sengupta, last month for possession of commercial quantities of MDMA and cocaine worth ₹7.5 lakh.

During the raid, ANC officials recovered 13 LSD blot papers, 10 grams of ketamine powder, approximately 406 grams of ketamine liquid, and 2 kg of ganja. In addition to the drugs, the police seized ₹35,000 in Indian currency and a sum in euros from the premises.

The operation was led by PSI Dindayalnath Redkar, assisted by HC Cedric Fernandes, PCs Vishal Shitole, Amit Salunke, Akshay Naik, and LPC Jyoti Naik. The raid was carried out under the supervision of PI ANC Sajith Pillai and the continuous guidance and monitoring of DySP ANC Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Tikam Singh Verma, IPS.
