In a major breakthrough, the Old Goa Police arrested Shiva S. More, a self-declared NGO representative, on December 18, 2024, for his involvement in a job scam where he cheated an ex-Indian Navy officer’s family by promising government jobs for their children. The case, registered under Cr. No. 110/2024 on October 30, 2024, based on a complaint by Mrs. Laxmi Laxman Naik of Merces, alleged that Shiva More, along with Sarita S. Kerkar, forged documents and duped the complainant of ₹6 lakhs under the pretext of securing jobs.

A special team, supervised by SP North, Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS, was formed to track the accused, who had evaded arrest by concealing themselves. Their anticipatory bail pleas were rejected by both the Sessions Court in Panaji and the High Court of Bombay at Goa. After meticulous efforts, including CDR analysis and searches in Mumbai and Maharashtra, the police successfully apprehended Shiva More, who confessed to the crime. Further investigation is underway, and efforts are on to trace co-accused Sarita S. Kerkar.
