Panaji : India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa, has issued a yellow warning for the state of Goa on 27, 28, 29th of September.
IMD Goa informed that, The low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal on 24th September intensified further into Deep Depression and lay centered over northwest &adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal. It is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the next 6 hours. Latest info is available at: https://rsmcnewdelhi.imd.gov.in/
“It is likely to move nearly westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts between Vishakhapatnam & Gopalpur around Kalingapatnam by the evening of 26th September 2021,” said IMD Goa.
With the westward movement of this system, rainfall activity is likely to increase over Goa from around 26th. Heavy rainfall (Rainfall>6.4cm in 24 hrs) very likely at isolated places over North & South Goa districts on 27th, 28th & 29th September.
