Panaji: Mapusa police today arrested one Mr. Bhuraram Rupaji Chaudhary R/o Aarti apartment, Canca, Colvale, Bardez – Goa in connection with illegal storing and distribution of Gutkha in various areas in Goa.As per SDPO Jivba Dalvi he received information from reliable sources that one person has stored Gutkha at Chandrnath apartment, Mapusa which is being distributed around Goa. The shop was found to be named “Naresh Pen Store” and was used to store Gutkha and drugs illegally. Various types of Gutkha brands such as Vimal tobacco, Chaini tobacco, Tulsi tobacco, RMC Masala, Manikchand tobacco and many cigarette brands were found.Accordingly a raiding team was formed with PI Paresh Naik, PSI Ashish Parab, PSI Viraj Korgaonkar, Head Constable Sushant Chopdekar, constables Rajesh khanolkar, Anand Rathod and Akshay Patil.The stored Gutkha and cigarettes seized was found to be worth Rs. 1,50,000/-.An offence under section 87(f) of Goa Health Act has been registered.Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SP north Shobit Saxena IPS , SDPO Jivba Dalvi and PI Paresh Naik.
