Good Work by Tourist Police: Three Olive Ridley Turtles Rescued and Handed Over to Forest Department

On June 2, 2024, at approximately 19:30 hrs, Tourist Police Unit (TPU) officers HC-5844 Namdev Mandrekar, PC-9544 Tanvesh Naik, and PC-9493 Saiesh Naik, while patrolling Colva Beach, noticed three distressed Olive Ridley Sea Turtles in the shallow water. Acting swiftly, the TPU officers rescued two turtles, while Lifeguard Satish Gaonkar rescued the third.

The officers promptly informed the Forest Department, and the rescued turtles were handed over to Forest Guard Krupaksh Fatto for safe custody and further action.
