Panaji: Congress leaders including former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram participated in the maun vrat, a unique nationwide protest organized by the All India Congress Committee on Monday.
AICC had organized ‘maun vrat’ as a mark of protest against the killing of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
Chidambaram was accompanied by AICC Goa Desk Incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, and others during the protest held at Azad Maidan.
The protest began at 11 am and continued for over an hour during which the leaders were sitting silent.
