The Goa Congress Party President addressed hundreds of concerned villagers gathered at the Shri Sateri Temple in Kudchire, expressing their anxiety over the corrupt BJP-led Goa government’s plans to destroy their ancestral religious site, Barazan. Notable attendees included Vales Everston, Jitendra Gaonkar, Meghashyam Raut, Viren Shirodkar, Ajay Prabhugaonkar, Nazir Beig, and Santosh Sawant. The local MLA, Premendra Shet, accompanied by a large police force, conducted a survey for a proposed Waste Treatment Plant without consulting the community, raising alarm among the villagers. The Congress President assured the villagers that the party will stand firm in protecting their village and the religious site from these questionable policies. The party also demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant immediately halt the proposed project and ensure that no permissions are granted without the villagers’ consent. Additionally, Panch members present informed the crowd that the Village Panchayat was unaware of any such government project.
