Panaji – Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panjikar expressed outrage over photos showing Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant sitting behind the Ambani family during the swearing-in ceremony of the “1/3rd Prime Minister of India.” Panjikar accused Dr. Sawant of putting Goa to shame.
Reacting to images of Dr. Sawant seated behind business tycoon Mukesh Ambani and actor Shahrukh Khan, Panjikar criticized the BJP for not adhering to protocol.
“It appears Dr. Pramod Sawant attended the ceremony as a ‘puppet of Modi.’ If he wishes to act on Modi-Shah’s dictates, he should resign as Chief Minister of Goa. He has no right to disrespect the dignity of his post,” stated Panjikar.
He further claimed that the BJP central leadership treats Goan BJP leaders as subordinates and accused the party of giving second-class treatment to the Bahujan Samaj of Goa. He pointed out that despite being the seniormost minister alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Shripad Naik was only made Minister of State.
Panjikar condemned the Modi-Shah led BJP for disrespecting the Chief Minister of Goa and demanded an apology to Goans for this humiliation.
