Reacting to the recent press conference by BJP ministers, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Vice President Sunil Kawthankar has termed the event a “comedy circus.” He criticized two cabinet ministers for attempting to defend Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, likening their defense to a “donkey praising its own tail.”
Kawthankar expressed surprise at senior politician and Minister Subhash Shirodkar’s involvement in such an act, stating that it is expected for the entire cabinet to support the CM as long as he holds office. He also pointed out that with the backing of the BJP high command, all 32 ruling MLAs will continue to stand behind the CM.
Kawthankar questioned whether the ministers’ actions were indicative of an impending change in government, as protests continue across Goa from north to south over failed governance and corruption. He suggested that BJP MLAs privately hold a different opinion about the government’s functioning, contrasting with their public stance.
